Life-history evolution, especially the evolution of developmental rates and life-span, and the generality of life-history tradeoffs.

The role of biological clocks in timing life-history events.

Competition and density-dependent selection.

Small population and metapopulation dynamics.

Evolutionary genetics of circadian rhythms.

Philosophical issues in adaptation and evolution.
