Conferences
The Centre for Computational Materials Science at JNCASR is happy to announce the launching of a programme of conferences, for the next 5 years (starting from April, 2006).
The centre invites applications from individual scientists or groups of scientists in India, who would like to organize conferences at the Jakkur Campus of JNCASR, Bangalore. The topic of the conference should fall within the broad area of computational materials science. The duration can be between 2 and 5 days. Those interested in organizing longer activities should instead apply to our programme of Workshops and Schools.
We will give the highest priority to those topics with are at the current research frontier and/or interdisciplinary, and require large-scale computational approaches. The organizers are expected to be scientists who are active in, and have contributed to, the field of the proposed activity. The conference can consist of a combination of invited and contributed talks, poster sessions and informal discussions.
The number of participants is expected to be between 30 and 100. The target audience should primarily be researchers working in India.
Proposals should be submitted at least six months before the date proposed for the start of the conference, and should include the following points- Title of the proposed conference
- Names and full coordinates of the organizers
- A brief description on the proposed topic and the reasons for holding a conference on the topic ( maximum 1500 words)
- Proposed dates for the programme and tentative structure of the programme
- List of suggested speakers/lectures (can be tentative)
- Target audience
- Funds required (for travel, etc.)
