Conference on "Nucleation, Aggregation and Growth"

The theme of the conference will be the understanding of nucleation phenomena, from the state of the art in conceptual understanding to applications of theoretical and computational techniques to a diverse range of physical, chemical and biological systems. To complement these theoretical approaches and define the essential problems in various areas of application, there will be talks on experimental techniques and developments in the areas of protein folding, aggregation, mesoscopic liquids and materials science.

This conference is being organised as part of the activities of the Centre for Computational Materials Science at JNCASR and is is intended as a follow up on a school on "Understanding Molecular Simulations" from 22-27 January 2007 (http://www.jncasr.ac.in/ccms/ums2007.html) to be held at the same venue. One of the aims of this conference therefore will be to illustrate how such simulation methods are used in practice in a frontline area of research for the benefit of participants attending the school.

We expect about 40 speakers and an equal number of participants. Apart from lectures by speakers, there will be a poster session where young participants can present the results of their recent research. There are no registration fees and local hospitality at the Jawaharlal Nehru Guest House will be provided to all the participants. In addition, a limited number of travel grants are available for participants for travel within India. The weather in Bangalore during January is extremely pleasant and Bangalore is well connected by air to most international destinations. The addresses of the organisers are given below. Late registration (beyond due date):

Anybody who is interested in attending conference can register even now. However, we cannot provide accommodation to applicants applying at this stage. Late applicants may kindly note that they will have to send the registration forms immediately without any further delay for consideration.
