School on
Numerical Quantum Many-body Methods in Physics and Chemistry
October 29 - November 3, 2007
This strongly interdisciplinary School aims at bridging the gaps between
physics and chemistry related problems which require consideration of
strong electronic correlations. Particular focus will be on numerical
methods which are tailored to treat large quantum systems with strong
electron electron interactions, ranging from High-Tc physics to Chemical
reactions. Among others, the following topics will be covered:
1. Propagator based formalisms.
2. Coupled cluster theories.
3. Configuration-interaction based techniques.
4. Exact diagonalization methods for lattice models.
5. Kadanoff renormalization group methods.
6. Density matrix renormalization group methods.
7. Diffusion and Green's function Monte Carlo methods.
8. Variational and Projected quantum Monte Carlo methods.
9. Dynamical mean field single-site and cluster theories for lattice models.
