Guidelines


Target Audience:

The school is aimed at a fairly broad audience of students in science. Typical participant would be 2-4th year PhD student in Physics/Chemistry/Biology. Junior post docs and senior scientists with a different background may also benefit from the course. Basic mathematical and programming skills, knowledge of UNIX and knowledge of thermodynamics is required. Previous exposure to statistical mechanics will be helpful (but this will be reviewed in the lectures). Participants must have an adequate working knowledge of English. The school will have introductory sessions on aspects of molecular simulations such as molecular dynamics methodology, force fields, ensemble representation etc.,

There will be a registration fee of Rs. 2,500/-, which may be partially or fully waived in special cases. See application form.

Travel Support:

The funding available to support participants to the school will be used to support the local expenses and travel of a limited number of selected participants. We will be able to reimburse you Second Class Sleeper Train fare, as well as local transport charges in Bangalore.

During the period of stay for the school, we will take care of local transportation between the school venue and your guest house where you will be accommodated.
