Experimental facilities include a low-speed wind tunnel having transparent test section of 2m length and 0.6m x 0.6m cross-section, which can be operated with uniform velocities from 1m/s up to 10m/s. a head Nd-Yag laser(10Hz., 120 mJ/pulse) is a part of a Particle Image Velocimeter that yields instantaneous velocities in a plane. Computing facilities of the Unit includes a computer centre, two parallel-clusters, one 8-node Flo-solver Mk6 system, the other a 6-node, Xeon processor cluster.
