The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers in India, the USA and industry to initiate collaborative research in the important area of energy science and technology enabled by nanomaterials. Notably, one day of the workshop will focus on industry-university collaboration and will be hosted by General Electric's John F. Welch Technology Centre in Bangalore.

Topics: The topics of energy transport, conversion, and efficiency will serve as cross-cutting themes, while the workshop is being organized according to the following topical thrusts:

* Unique energy transport, conversion, and storage processes in nanomaterials

* Scalable synthesis of nanomaterials

* Functionalization and heterogeneous materials integration for energy

* Nanomaterials and devices for clean energy and energy conservation
