Prof. Kanishka Biswas' group from JNCASR have claimed a breakthrough in thermoelectric energy conversion research by proposing the concept of simultaneous tuning of the electronic structure and thermal conductivity via controlling the atomic ordering in crystalline solids and this result is just published in SCIENCE. They measured extremely high thermoelectric figure of merit and this materials can used in waste heat to electrical energy conversion in chemical, thermal, steel, nuclear power plants, automobile industry and in house hold small equipment's.
