President's Message

I have great pleasure in welcoming you to the webpage of JNCASR.

The centre was established in the year 1989 to commemorate the birth centenary of Late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, with the initiative of Prof. C.N.R.Rao, the founder President. During the last one and half decade, the Centre has continuously grown to become one of the leading research institutions in India. The Centre is also recognized by the University Grants Commission as Deemed University in the year 2002. The Centre has very active academic programmes including training of Ph.D students as well as several extension activities to foster interaction among the scientific community from within India and abroad.

This site provides an indepth and current account of the various activities at the Centre and I hope you will enjoy browsing this site.
