Arti Dumbrepatil, PhD

Korea Research Institute of Biosciences and Biotechnology, Daejeon, Korea.

artidumbre@jncasr.ac.in

I am studying outer kinetochore proteins in C.albicans with respect to protein structure and biochemical functions. I have also been doing high throughput small molecule inhibitor screening for destabilization of the kinetochore structure.

Gautam Chatterjee, PhD

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, India.
gautamc@jncasr.ac.in

I am working on the identification and characterization of the centromere in a human pathogenic yeast, Candida tropicalis.

Laxmi Shenkar Rai, PhD

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, India.

laxmis@jncasr.ac.in

I study the functional significance of a novel CTG clade specific histone H3 variant and its role in various switching mechanism in Candida albicans.

Graduate Students

Neha Varshney

M.Sc. Molecular and Human Genetics,

Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India.

nehavarshney@jncasr.ac.in

My work involves understanding aneuploidy mediated drug resistance in C. albicans. Mechanisms involved in centromere silencing is my other area of interest.

Vikas Yadav

M. S. (Molecular Biology and Genetics)

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, India.

vikas_yadav@jncasr.ac.in

I am working on the understanding the evolution of centromeres in Cryptococcus species. My work also includes identification of factors responsible for centromere clustering and dynamics during mitosis in C. neoformans.

 Lakshmi Sreekumar

M.S. (Molecular Biology and Genetics)

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, India.

lsree@jncasr.ac.in

I am working on identification of replicator sequences and characterization of associated proteins in C. albicans. My work also includes studying the role of TopoII in centromere function.

 Shreyas Sridhar

M.S. (Molecular Biology and Genetics)

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, India.

shreyas_sridhar@jncasr.ac.in

I am currently investigating the mechanism of various cell cycle events in Cryptococcus neoformans.

 Sundar Ram

M.S. (Molecular Biology and Genetics)

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, India.

sundar_ram@jncasr.ac.in

I am working on kinetochore assembly and regulation in Candida tropicalis.

Krishnendu Guin

M.Sc. (Agriculture)

CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, India.CCS

krishnendu@jncasr.ac.in

I am trying to understand the role of RNAi in centromere-kinetochore structure and function in the human pathogenic yeast Candida tropicalis.

Rima Singha

M.Sc. (Botany)

University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India.CCS

rimasingha@jncasr.ac.in

I am studying the epigenetic regulation of histone H3 variants found in CTG clade species and characterization of proteins interacting specifically with these variants.
