The main objective of the Regional Offices will be to promote the activities of TWAS and its affiliated organizations in various regions of the south (training fellowships, grants, awards, networks, etc.) as recommended in TWAS Third Strategic Plan currently under final preperation. In particular, The Regional Offices should:

• Enhance the visibility of TWAS among young and promising scientists, policy-makers and the media through, for example, public lectures, discussion meetings, television programmes and local newspapers/magazines.
• Identity eminent scientists in the region and nominate them for TWAS membership and awards.
• Assess the vitality and effectiveness of TWAS activities in the region.
• Organize activities in areas of science and technology of critical importance to the region
