Information for participants of ACCMS-1

Status of ACCMS-1: The 11th Sept 2001 events in the USA and their after-effects have not altered the schedule of ACCMS-1 as of now (October, 12, 2001.) . The local organizing committee of ACCMS-1 met recently on Oct, 9, 2001 and strongly recommended that the ACCMS-1 should take place as planned, ie. Nov 29th-Dec 1, 2001.

Accommodation: Participants of ACCMS-1 will be accommodated in guest houses of academic institutes in the vicinity of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and a few hotels (rates below):

Ashoka ( five-star) :

Rs. 4080 to 4560 Rs for single/double rooms.

We will be able to obtain a 10 % discount, if there are requests for more than 10 rooms in a given hotel..

Participants are expected to send a request for accommodation along with the registration form (available online) before Nov 1st, 2001.

Transportation: (more details will be posted on the ACCMS-1 web page)

  1. Airport to guest houses/hotels: There are prepaid taxis available at the airport which costs about 300-400 Rs. An auto-rickshaw costs less than 100 Rs.

(2) Train station to guest houses/hotels:There are auto-rickshaws available with a predetermined fare by the information desk outside the station. It costs up to 50 Rs.

Visa-procedures (for non-Indian citizens):

Please apply for a visa at the nearest Indian embassy or consulate. I have applied for the clearance from the government of India (GoI) for all the participants who sent their personal particulars by email. At present, we do have an administrative approval from the department of science and technology, GoI and they have requested for further clearance.
