“Liquid Crystals with Inclusions: Ferronematics and Living Liquid Crystals”
Abstract:We will discuss coarse-grained models of liquid crystals with two important classes of inclusions: magnetic particles and active matter. These two systems are respectively termed "ferronematics" and "living liquid crystals" in the experimental literature. We will present detailed results from theoretical studies of these systems
