Facilities available in Transcription and Disease Laboratory

Molecular Biology Laboratory- We have an excellent molecular biology laboratory where we are equipped to perform many assays, a few being In-vitro enzyme assays, qRT-PCR, PCR, Western Blotting, Immunofluroscence, etc. Systems include Gel-doc, Nano-drop and suitable microscopes for application in our research.
Cell culture- In our laboratory, we work on multiple mammalian cell lines to study different aspects of Adipogenesis, steatosis, cancer biology, neurodegenerative diseases, and the associated epigenetic landscape. We also screen for several small molecule modulators and epidrugs for the management of several disorders.
IHC lab- In this facility, Immunohistochemistry of various samples (Cancer and Normal) is done and it consists of a Bacterial hood to perform bacterial-related experiments (transformation, inoculation, etc.). We also have our own shaker incubator for inoculation purposes.
Chemical Biology- Our lab design and develop small molecules which can modulate epigenetic protein like Lysine acetyl/acyl transferase, Protein arginine methyl transferase etc. Along with that we also isolate and characterise bioactive compounds from natural products. We also synthesise Carbon nanosphers which act as a brain delivery agent for therapeutic purpose.
