India-EMBO lecture Course “Understanding Biological Clocks – theoretical framework to cellular basis”, to be held from 28 February–9 March 2025, at the JNCASR campus, aims to impart training in Chronobiology to PhD students, Master’s students, MBBS students, early career scientists and teachers as well as clinicians in India and the global south. Pedagogical lectures by outstanding young and senior scientists on fundamental chronobiology concepts, latest methods to analyze high throughput data as well as time-series analysis of behavioural and high-dimensional molecular data are on offer. Also included are hands-on laboratory exercises, formal and informal interactions with eminent international researchers and clinicians, training in preparation of oral presentations and paper reviews. We envision that participants will come away with a significant understanding of core principles of clockwork mechanisms at the theoretical, cellular and circuit level along with awareness of the historical development of the field.
