Prof. A. Sundaresan has completed his Ph. D. (1988- 94) from IIT, Bombay and later he joined Laboratoire CRISMAT, ISMRa, Caen, France (1995-97) as a Post Doctoral fellow followed by Researcher position at LEPES - CNRS, Grenoble, France (1998- 99) and JST - CREST, NeRI, AIST, Tsukuba Central 2, Tsukuba, Japan (1999- 2004). He joined JNCASR as a faculty fellow in 2004 and now he is Chair of Chemistry & Physics of Materials Unit. His primary research interest lies in solid-state chemistry and physics. Preparation and characterization of various inorganic oxide materials of both academic interest and with technologically required properties. Experimental techniques involve solid state and chemical route of synthesis, structural characterization (x-ray, neutron, and electron diffraction) and physical property measurements (magnetic, electrical transport, and ferroelectrics). The aim is to correlate the structure and properties so that a material with required property may be achieved.
