Sujan K K pursuing Ph.D.

Contact:  sujanbharadwaj@jncasr.ac.in

Year of joining the lab: 2020

Qualifications: M.Sc. from National Institute of Technology (Karnataka)

Research Interest:

I am interested in theoretical condensed matter physics, mainly in strongly correlated electron systems (SCES). My research is mainly focused on the investigation of quantum criticality in SCES. Thereby I am trying to understand the scaling laws, universality classes, and other properties in the various quantum phases. I am interested to study theoretical tools developed to study the SCES.

Vinayak M Kulkarni pursuing Ph.D.

Contact:  vmkphysimath@gmail.com

Year of joining the lab: 2017

Qualifications: MSc in Physics from Karnataka State University Dharwad, 2013.

Research Interest: Renormalization Group (RG) Approaches to Quantum phase transitions. Mainly my interests are in phenomena of emergence  in Quantum condensed matter systems.I am also interested in parity-time symmetric Quantum Mechanics in many body systems, and symmetry breaking phase transitions in such systems. Recently I used some Perturbative RG techniques such as Anderson's Poorman Scaling,Flow equation RG,Projection operator method to capture quantum phase transitions.

Anirudha Mirmira pursuing Integrated Ph.D

Broadly my interests lie in studying non-equilibrium quantum many-body systems. My Master's thesis was on using the Floquet Hamiltonian formalism to look at interacting quantum dot systems. Currently, I am developing computational tools to study interacting many-body systems both in and out of steady states. In particular, I am interested in generalising the Local Moment Approach to study systems out of equilibrium.
