Message from the President:

“JNCASR is a proud partner in the initiative of the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India to bring gender equality in institutions in the form of project called “GATI – Gender Advancement through Transforming Institutions”. As per the given Charter of the Project, the Centre is committed to offer equal opportunities to all, particularly to women in STEMM areas. The several categories of researchers in the Centre reflect strong presence of women. Female faculty members are also inducted in key positions such as Deans, Chairs of the Units and Committees. Women scientists at JNCASR have also been supported by the Centre to set up laboratories and run independent projects being Principal Investigators of projects funded by various national and international funding agencies. In the appointment process as well, emphasis is given towards merit than gender. The Centre also has a well-framed system of redressal of complaints through committees on – internal grievance, students grievance, and sexual harassment of women in the workplace. Going forward, the Centre looks forward to the guidelines of this project to identify the gap areas and adopt appropriate transformative measures to establish equal opportunities across all sections of employees in STEMM areas.”
