Hansraj completed his Ph.D. (2020) from our lab and is currently writing up his findings. He carried out the first detailed tests of predictions from socioecological theory in elephants, by quantifying food resources and within- and between-clan agonism, and studying dominance relationships in female Asian elephants in Nagarahole NP, southern India.

He did his M.Sc. in Environmental Studies (2011) from TERI University, and carried out fieldwork in the Kabini Elephant Project before joining the Ph.D. programme.
