We developed a sensitive, sturdy and a cost efficient miniature tabletop Raman spectrometer. The spectrometer provides a decent spectral resolution with a high throughput achieved by f-number coupling a large clear aperture to a custom made spectrometer for effective light collection. The integration time ranges from milliseconds to a few seconds, helping achieve faster scans. The system has been integrated with a motorized stage which can accomodate a 96 well plate and has been automated to run a Raman map along these wells, helping achieve automated multi-well maps for quick scans for a large sets of samples. We demonstrated SERS of R6G in a 5ms time, while with similar experimental conditions, a commerical spectrometer acquired a similar intensity spectrum of the same in about 4min.
