Advertisement for an RA-III position under Prof. Ganesh Subramanian, Engineering Mechanics Unit, JNCASR
Applications are invited for the position of a Research Associate (RA-III),
under the supervision of Prof. Ganesh Subramanian, Engineering Mechanics Unit,
JNCASR. The selected candidate will conduct research on a range of problems
pertaining to motion of deformed drops and anisotropic particles in shearing
flows of Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids. The candidate is expected to take
up this position starting October 1st, 2024.
Candidates should hold a PhD
in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Theoretical
Physics, or allied disciplines, with at least two years of post-doctoral
experience in Microhydrodynamics, including expertise in theoretical and
computational methods (such as boundary integral simulations) related to the
motion of particles and drops in shearing flows of both Newtonian and
non-Newtonian fluids. This expertise should be evidenced by publications in
top-tier journals like the Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Journal of
non-Newtonian Fluid Mechanics, or Physical Review Fluids.
