Anuranjan Anand obtained his Ph.D. from the Microbiology and Cell Biology Department, Indian Institute of Science, and carried out his post-doctoral research at Stanford University, USA. He joined as a faculty in the Molecular Biology and Genetics Unit, JNCASR, and later became a Professor and Chair (August 2009- July 2016) of the Unit. He Chaired the Neuroscience Unit at this Centre from July 2016 to June 2022.
