As a fungal geneticist, I am interested in understanding how organelles communicate at the membrane contact sites and its adaptation to various stress conditions important for the fitness of the organism. Currently, I am exploring the role of autophagy proteins in the regulation of spindle positioning, vital for asymmetric cell division in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Rima Singha

I have worked on the regulation of biofilm development by histone H3 variants in C. albicans in my Ph.D. Currently, I am interested in studying the factors contributing to nucleosome assembly via histone H3 variants and its effect on biofilm development.

Shweta Panchal

I am interested in understanding molecular aspects of chromosome segregation involving study of the centromere structure and kinetochore assembly process in early diverging fungi, Mucorales.

Sundar Ram S

My research interests include understanding the diversity in centromere and kinetochore structure in eukaryotes. My present work is based on the regulation of proper kinetochore-microtubule attachments by outer kinetochore proteins in Candida albicans and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
