Integrated B.S. (Research)- Ph.D Programme

Eligibility for Integrated B.S. (Research)- Ph.D Programme

Candidates with a 3 yrs B.Sc. or having completed 120 credits in a Bachelors programme with minimum 55 % marks in areas as listed in Table 2 are eligible to apply.

Degree Programme

Qualifying degree and exams

Chemistry

  • Applicants possessing a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science with Chemistry as one of the major subject.
  • Candidates who have qualified the JAM 2026/CUET 2026 written test (for Master's) are strongly encouraged to apply

Physics

  • Students with minimum of 55%  at Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science with Physics as one of the major subject.
  • Candidates who have qualified the JAM 2026/CUET 2026 written test (for Master's) are strongly encouraged to apply

Materials

  • Students with minimum of 55%  at Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science with sound knowledge in the fundamentals of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Candidates who have qualified the JAM 2026/CUET 2026 (for Master's) are encouraged to apply

Biology (offered in following streams: Evolutionary and Organismal Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Neuroscience)

For Molecular Biology and Genetics and Neuroscience:

  • Applicants possessing a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science with Biology as one major subject.
  • Candidates who have qualified the JAM 2026/CUET 2026 written test (for Master's) are strongly encouraged to apply.

For Evolutionary and Organismal Biology:

  • Applicants possessing a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science or equivalent degree.
  • Candidates who have qualified the JAM 2026/CUET 2026 written test (for Master's) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Mechanics and Computing

  • Applicants possessing a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor’s degree Physics or Mathematics or Earth Science or BS-degree (having completed 120 credits in 3 years) in Chemical Engineering & related fields.

2.2 Selection procedure

Candidates are short-listed for an interview based on their score in the national exam(s) like JAM 2026/CUET 2026 /JNCASR 2026 entrance exam (based on Unit criteria) and academic performance. The selection to the program is based on the performance in the interview.

Scholarship/Fellowships:

Only students continuing to the Ph.D programme shall receive suitable fellowship based on Centre's norms. 

Medical / Insurance facility: Applicable as per norms of the Centre. The students have access to on-campus doctors, physiotherapists, counsellors, as well as to medical facilities elsewhere.

Travel grants:

 Ph.D Students will receive travel grant upto Rs.1,00,000/- as per Centre’s norms, to attend international/national conferences.
