To enhance public understanding and readiness for seismic events, the Geosciences Unit, in collaboration with the Safety Committee at JNCASR, organized an insightful talk titled 'Awareness on Earthquake Preparedness &  Hazard Mitigation' on 21 January 2025 by Dr. Ajay Paul, a distinguished Senior Scientist at the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun. The Geosciences Unit and the Safety Committee at JNCASR aim to foster a culture of safety and preparedness within the institute.  

This informative session provided valuable insights for JNCASR researchers and staff on how to stay safe during an earthquake and contribute to a more resilient community. The event served as a vital platform to equip participants with in-depth knowledge on hazard mitigation strategies, highlighting the importance of proactive planning, community engagement, and scientific understanding to minimize the impact of earthquakes and enhance resilience against seismic risks.
