 Applications are invited for R&D Assistant under the guidance of Principal Investigator Prof. Ravi Manjithaya, Molecular Biology and Genetics Unit (MBGU), JNCASR, Bangalore 560 064.

R&D Assistant (non-Medical) (Remuneration with Rs. 22,610- plus 30% HRA)

Essential Qualification:
M.Sc. or a Postgraduate degree (including integrated PG degrees) in Life Sciences or any biological stream.

Desired Qualification:

Candidates with at least two years of research experience in mouse models and bacterial infections of the central nervous system are invited to apply.

• Proven experience in the handling, maintenance, ear tagging, genotyping, breeding, and dissection of transgenic mice, as well as in stereotaxy, in vivo knockdown, cryosectioning, immunofluorescence, high-resolution microscopy, in vivo blood-brain barrier integrity assays, and behavioral experiments.
• Experience in primary neuronal or other brain cell cultures, synapse fractionation using Percoll, Ficoll, or sucrose-based gradient centrifugation, and molecular biology techniques such as PCR (including qRT-PCR), Western blotting, and pathogenic bacterial culture/CFU assays (preferred).
• Familiarity with software such as Neurolucida, Imaris, ImageJ and GraphPad Prism is advantageous.

Candidates with strong verbal and written communication skills, and a proven ability to work effectively in a team will be given preference.
